The relationship between a neighborhood and a restaurant or bar is often a bit complicated and always crucial, and it looks like the new Corner Bar at 57th and J streets is getting its rapport right.

There is a lot to commend about The Corner; plentiful parking isn't one of them. But that's plentiful largely where the critique ends. The new occupant of 5641 J Street, the origional Shakey's, knows what it's doing and does it well.

The Corner Restaurant & Bar is located on the corner of 57th and J streets in Sacramento. The Corner, which used to be Sweetwater Restaurant and Bar, opened Oct. 2.  At first glance, the outside of The Corner Restaurant & Bar looks slightly ordinary and similar to every restaurant in town, but its interior is quite a different story.
